Well, the preacher said : "Son,you won´t believe me but a hard rain´s a´gonna fall when the goin´ gets tough and its fair enough now to warn you after all. `cause I´ve seen `em come and I´ve seen `em go and I saw `em bleedin´ in the sand. It´s a long hard fight - hope you´re doin´ right when the devil takes your hand
Well, you may laugh and say I´m a fool but I know much better than you that it´s a cruel cruel world we´re livin´ in when you haven´t got a clue `bout the talk of the gun when the day is done and it´s way too hot to sleep. In the heat of the night many men have died and still waters run so deep.
So take good care of the blues my friend, he´s the only friend you´ve got when you cross that line of blood and cheap wine and graceland turns to mud. You´ll end up a burnin´ soul in hell as soon as you get on board. There´s only one chance left for you and that´s prayin´ to the Lord.
So I turned around and said : "Why not - I´ve never tried that before." I´m an open minded person so I opened up the door "Hey Father, can you hear me ? Hope you do - if you exist. I am what you call a sinner for sure and I´m definitely on your list.
I spent my nights in empty bars and I´m so lonesome I could cry. The only love I had in my life was false and said : `goodbye´. I´m not askin´ for a miracle, Lord, but a little bit of luck would do !" I said : "Amen" and went out on the street and then sudddenly I saw you ………
