- May God Save Us From Religion -music: Ferdy Doernberg / lyrics: Ferdy Doernberg & Joseph Parsons (Then Then Music / BMI)
I just saw it on the TV - another war in the Middle-East - you simply cannot count the victims anymore and there´s still no chance for peace - may God save us from religion ! Over the edge - way beyond the killing fields. How many innocent must have died ? How many mothers must have cried in pain - in vain - insane `cause another saint has lied ? How many inquisitions must be done in a good Lord´s name ? How many politicians must be using blind faith without any shame ? How many words must be spoken - how many promises must be broken before there´s no one left to blame ? May God save us from religion !
When winds of hope turn backwards and waves roll from the shore. When all you see through tears of hope are tomorrows nevermore - when for now becomes forever and prayers profanities you look to skies of blacks and blues and dream the blind to see. When the world falls down beside you and truth is in disguise believe in what you're here to do. Let no man spin you lies. I'm sure there must be something - no one around here knows. We look to those who preach the words of faith they do not show - may God save us from religion !
Crusaders of damnation - holy words to hide their greed for money, oil and power - they use the church the blind to lead. And if there really is a punishment - maybe down to hell I´ll go - but maybe fear is just a weapon and heaven down below. May God save us from Religion !
